The Chesterfield General Store is currently seeking new owners. While our family has been very fortunate for the opportunity to be a part of the Chesterfield community, we believe it’s time for someone new with a shared interest in good food and baked goods who will hopefully continue to improve upon what we’ve built.
The store will remain open while we await that person or persons.
There is a lot of potential for this little cafe that has accomplished so much in the past seven years.

It’s time for a new chapter in our lives, and we’ve had many, but for me this has been the most profound. I am very grateful for everyone who has played a role in creating the cafe. I’ve been very fortunate to have worked with many of the people and organizations in our town and surrounding hilltowns that truly create and care for a community. I’ve been inspired by their work as I’ve been inspired by those who have worked along side me. Thank you all for being there when we needed you and when others needed you. Hello, we’re back from our break and we have some new cheesecake varieties this week: Raspberry, Blueberry, Vanilla and a Chocolate Truffle. Our Carrot Cake is back too! Cookies and Biscotti, Hermit Bars and Bear Bars! Our new baker Chris has just started so we’re excited to see what she can bring to the store for new desserts while holding on to our favorites. Reubens, tuna melts, grilled cheese and deli sandwiches available after 11. Pizza starting at 4:30 today, thank you!

We’re ready for our last afternoon before our break! Fresh bread and bialys, muffins and baked goods to stock up on. We will be closed next week preparing for the BikesFightCancer event next Saturday the 20th in South Deerfield at Treehouse Brewing. Sorry to be closed that week but that’s a huge event for us and we’re a small place getting smaller. We’ll reopen mid July after another large catering event with the Jam Fund and their Grand Fundo! Fundraiser for young cyclists. If you’ve noticed our team is changing and we’re still looking for someone to take over our baking department. We wish everyone who has decided to pursue other goals the best but In the meantime we’ll still be offering our fresh baked muffins, cookies and desserts. While there have been some changes recently we do hope to continue offering everything you’ve come to love at the Chesterfield General Store & Cafe.

I wanted to say thank you to all of our amazing customers for all of the kindness love and friendship over the past few years while I spent my time at the Chesterfield General Store. It has been such a pleasure to bake for all of you and spread the joys of tasty treats. Sadly it is time for me to move onto my next adventure in life.
