There are moments in this business that remind me exactly why I do what I do. ❤️

A few days ago, a customer came in needing a large order of cakes for an event that was only two days away. Normally, I probably would have said no immediately. My schedule was already crazy, and honestly, I’ve reached a point in my life where I don’t want to put myself through unnecessary stress anymore.

But something about her spirit was just so sweet. She was kind, genuine, and gracious, and for whatever reason, I felt like I needed to make it happen for her. So I did.

Today, she came back into the shop and blessed me with this incredibly generous tip. And honestly, if she had brought me a dollar, I would have been just as grateful.

It wasn’t the amount that touched me. It was the thoughtfulness behind it. It was her taking the time to come back and show appreciation for the effort that I put into making her order happen.

In this industry, we encounter difficult customers more often than people realize. There are days when you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, underappreciated, and wondering if all the extra effort is even worth it.

Then you meet someone like her.

Someone who reminds you that kindness still exists. Someone who reminds you that your efforts don’t go unnoticed. Someone who makes you remember the WHY behind everything you do.

I often go out of my way to make people happy, even when it means stretching myself a little further than I probably should. Today was just a beautiful reminder that sometimes, those efforts come full circle.

Thank you for seeing me. Thank you for appreciating me. And thank you for reminding me that what I do matters. 🥹❤️

It’s never just about the cakes. It’s about the people, the connections, and the moments like this that make it all worth it. 🧁✨

My family Our Peoples Soulful Seafood Our Peoples Soulful Seafood just shared this amazing photo of Morris Chestnut showing K Squared Cupcakes love by purchasing some of our cakes this afternoon which by the way was some of the best cake he’s ever had!! He got our Homestyle Lemon and Sweet Potato cake with Cream Cheese icing. Just confirmation from my post yesterday about not worrying about the ones who purposely don’t show love. God will always send the manna and it may be a A list celebrity. 😉

Today is our last day open before we head out for vacation! 💕🩵

While we’ll definitely miss all of our amazing customers, we’re looking forward to a little rest and relaxation before we head into the last quarter of the year—our busiest (and favorite!) season. We can’t wait to come back refreshed and ready to create even more sweet treats for you!
