Gobble Gobble!!! It's that time of year, again. So, to reserve your Mary's Organic turkey, pop in and ask the cashier for the sign-up sheet, leave a $10 deposit, and we should have them on the 17th November. Fortunately, the price only went up a little, to $3.99/lb! Also, should we find ourselves without any turkeys (we all know how crazy shipping has become!), we have secured over 60 free-range chickens, from Mountain Springs Farm, Orondo. So, there WILL BE POULTRY this Thanksgiving!!!

VANILLA BEANS!!!!! Yep we finally found an awesome source for fresh vanilla beans. These are from Uganda, and are around 30% in the moisture department. While you may have gotten used to spending $20 for 2 pods, these are getting blown out for about $27 an oz! That is about 10 pods a package! Buy them as gifts, or just go crazy with your fall baking! We got ourselves 4 # of these, so there are plenty to go around. Even if you don't need to pick some up right now, pop in and ask the cashier to sniff the jar. Mmmmm!!!

Welcome Merrow Chocolatier to the “Chelan Neighborhood”. Yes, we have local chocolates being made right here in the Chelan Valley. We will be carrying these delicacies year-round (when available), but don’t miss the current Easter/Spring collection - limited seasonal supply!

Happy Spring from Bear Foods. 🌷🌈☘️🐣🐇

Yesterday during the annual “Wayne Kelly Memorial Top Dog Parade” 🎩 👒 🐕 in historic downtown Chelan, you may have seen my niece and I sharing a bit of spring cheer... We passed around sprigs of P***y Willow. (Some lucky 🍀 charmed folks may have even received a sprig with a free Bear Foods popcorn card. 🍿) Because catkins of the P***y Willow appear so early, they are considered one of the first signs of spring. If you would like to grow your very own P***y Willow from that little sprig, here below are some tips for growing your very own P***y Willow tree.


Make an angled cut at the bottom of the stem.

Root the cutting in water or directly in moist soil. To root in water, simply drop the cut end into a glass of clean water. Roots should form in a few weeks. Refill the glass with more water as it evaporates.

When the cutting has plenty of roots, dig a hole in a sunny spot and amend the soil with compost or peat. Put the cutting in the hole and gently firm the soil around it. Water thoroughly.

Because rainfall in Chelan is scarce, keep the cutting watered until it becomes established and puts out new growth.

Generations of kiddos have enjoyed the popcorn from Bear Foods. Did you know this popular local snack has been a staple in the store for close to 50 years?

It’s challenging when equipment that we rely upon conks out. As small business owners, we have to do a lot of these repairs ourselves or rely on parts to arrive to complete the repair. You have probably noticed that our produce cooler has been down and is still currently awaiting more parts. Unfortunately, as the saying goes: “When it rains it pours”... We are very eager to get our fabulous selection of organic produce back in stock for you. In the meanwhile, we appreciate your patience.

Do you recognize this shoplifter? Bear Foods is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to his arrest. He was in the store on the afternoon of Friday 19th Feb, 3.10pm. Notice the tattoo on his neck (JBS?), and the designer faded jeans. One of the items stolen was a hand knitted hat with a grey pompom. Maybe you checked him into a hotel for the weekend? We are working with our friends at the Sheriffs department, and any tips will remain confidential. Your help is greatly appreciated.

There are too many good things in this image to elaborate individually, but would’ya just look at that rich color scheme...STUNNING! If you are curious to know more about any of these products, everything has been tagged so you can look them up at your leisure and pleasure.

One thing I will say is that the beautifully packaged torrone bar is “bar-none” (pun intended) ONE OF THE BEST CHOCOLATE BARS I HAVE EVER HAD....!!
