LAST POST (for now) + BIG NEWS!

So, after making this cake for the lovely couple Julie & Justin last November, I made the difficult decision to put my cake business aside indefinitely so that I can really focus on being present with my kids during their early years (no.3 on the way now! 😍)

I've hesitated to make that announcement on social media as it feels so final, but now's the right time. Because my family has also just relocated to Chattanooga! I've been so honored to serve Augusta area couples over the last several years and enjoyed making each wedding cake so much, but I'm excited for this next chapter in our life.

You won't be seeing anymore from me on here, probably for several more years. But I hope one day to be back for a new chapter of Sweet April Cakes (maybe even a new name), this time serving the Chattanooga area!

Realizing I never posted this wedding cake from last October—sad because it was probably my most favorite I’ve ever done! It was truly custom designed to include all the various elements the couple wanted and please their differing tastes. The lacy piping on the top tier mimicked the embroidery on the bride’s gown. All the details were time consuming but so much fun, and I absolutely loved how it turned out! Thanks again to Amber and Huy for allowing me to make the cake for their special day!

After a hiatus to add another darling baby boy to our family 😍 I’m back! Feeling particularly proud of myself for pulling off this beautiful cake for my sister-in-law’s wedding — out of state and 8 weeks postpartum! A huge congratulations to Alicia and Stephan — love you guys! I’m completely obsessed with these colors. 🌺 🌻 Make sure to scroll through to the third picture which I took when the sun was shining through a high window in the reception hall, basically creating a spotlight right on the cake!
