We are Chattanooga's only dedicated gluten-free, vegan space! In addition to this, we are completely soy-free and dye-free!

We exist to provide high quality, healthier desserts that don't just match the quality of "normal" desserts, but that exceed it! The Better Bakery was started out of a passion for health and delicious pastries. We believe that healthy does not have to mean a compromise in taste and tasty does not have to mean a compromise in health. It can be difficult to find food that is made in a healthy way. T

his becomes even more challenging when the search is for pastries. Made from heaps of butter and sugar, the fresh pastries that are readily available often become a “cheat food” for the health-conscious among us. We believe that it does not have to be this way! We create all of our pastries with a healthy distribution of macronutrients in mind. This starts with the ingredients that we use. Everything that we make is vegan and made without gluten, soy, butters and oils. Healthy does not have to equal a compromise in taste!

It's hard to believe that it has been almost 5 full years of The Better Bakery! It has been quite a journey, meeting so many wonderful people and getting to be a part of hundreds of milestones in your lives.

After 5 years of many days running non-stop from 4:00am to 9:00pm without any breaks or food during the day, it has taken quite a toll on my health. I obviously love what I do! It has been truly exciting to create so many pieces of edible art, bringing your visions to life in a dietary-inclusive way. Thank you for trusting me to be a sweet (literally) part of so many of your special moments!

Life holds many different seasons, and I am looking forward to this season of rest and recovery after pushing myself for so long, pouring everything that I have into this little specialty bakery. I started the bakery out of a passion for combining science and art to create special desserts with a focus on health to help facilitate you being a better you. With that in mind, it is time that I apply these important aspects to my very weary self.

Building this from the ground up, I genuinely poured my heart and soul into creating something that had never been done before; the first and only completely dedicated gluten-free, wheat-free, oat-free, vegan, dairy-free, egg-free, soy-free, dye-free, nutrition-based, largely organic bakery where the desserts have a taste and texture that is even better than their "normal" dessert counterparts. Some of you guys have loved it SO much, that you have sometimes even been a bit grumpy when I have been too booked up to fit in more orders. 😅

Looking back, it is crazy to see how far this little bakery has come! From creating my own recipes completely from scratch to being fully booked every week with elaborate cake orders, having my own storefront and selling my items at other businesses, I did not imagine the growth and success that this little shop would have!

Thank you for your love and your support these past few years. I am unsure at this time how long this break will be, but I will post updates as they come. All standing orders will, as always, be fulfilled as expected.
