And just like that, another incredible weekend at The Hungry Hen is in the books!

I don’t even know how to properly thank you all anymore. Every week I think, surely these people can’t keep showing up like this… and then you do. AND YOU BRING FRIENDS! 🤣❤️

The familiar faces, the new customers, the sweet messages, the empty shelves… ALL OF IT. What started as this little dream of mine has turned into something I never could have imagined, and I hope you know just how much it means to me.

You aren’t just buying cinnamon rolls, sourdough, and cookies. You’re supporting a family, cheering on a dream, and making one very tired (but ridiculously grateful) chicken lady feel like she’s doing exactly what she’s supposed to be doing. 🥹🐔

🐓🌼 A Little Saturday Update from The Hungry Hen! 🌼🐓

First things first, I’m currently working on getting the stand loaded up with all sorts of goodies for TOMORROW morning at 9 AM! So don’t worry, you’ve still got one more chance to get your Hungry Hen fix before we disappear for a little bit! 🤣❤️

Now for a little housekeeping…

There will be NO preorders this coming week, and the farm stand will be CLOSED next weekend!

You see, my poor husband has somehow found himself with a second full-time job at The Hungry Hen. 🤣 Completely against his will, I might add. Between frosting cinnamon rolls, packaging goodies, hauling things around, and being my unpaid bakery assistant, I figured the man deserves a few days of fresh air, outdoor adventures, and absolutely ZERO frosting bags. 😂❤️

We’re sneaking away for a little rest and relaxation, and next weekend we’ll be spending some much-needed family time at Family Day with our daughter at college! 🥰

Thank you all for keeping this little bakery so busy that my husband accidentally became an employee. 🤣❤️

But first… back to baking! I’ve got a stand to fill for tomorrow, and apparently these cinnamon rolls aren’t going to make themselves! 🐓💕

A few things didn’t make the cut this week. Scones, oatmeal crème pies, and a couple other goodies fell victim to delayed ingredients, packaging, and the fact that I am, unfortunately, only one human. 🤣

But here’s the part that makes all these ridiculous hours worth it…

You guys are out there sharing my baking, telling your friends, and helping this little dream grow without even realizing how much it means to me.

And THAT is pretty darn special. ❤️

It’s birthday week around here — today is my daughter’s birthday 🤩, and next week we’ll be CLOSED while we sneak away to celebrate my husband’s 40th! 🥳 So naturally… Birthday Cake Rolls are getting an encore.

Well… you guys took National Cinnamon Roll Day VERY seriously. 😂🤎

From a completely loaded stand this morning to… this. 🥹

I cannot thank you all enough for showing up for The Hungry Hen today. I knew cinnamon rolls were loved around here, but apparently a national holiday was all the excuse we needed. 😂

Thank you for the early morning line, for choosing my little stand, for telling your friends, and for continuing to support this crazy little bakery of mine. Seeing something I’ve worked so hard on get this kind of love will never, ever get old.

My heart is very full… and the stand is very empty. 🥹🐔🤎

🚨 CHANGE OF PLANS + SUNDAY IS ABOUT TO GET RIDICULOUS 🚨

I was thinking about doing a little Sourdough Saturday… but nope. 😂

We’re saving ALLLLLL the good stuff for SUNDAY.

And it just so happens that Sunday is NATIONAL CINNAMON ROLL DAY… which feels like the universe personally handed The Hungry Hen an assignment. 🐔🤣

So Sunday’s stand is going to be HEAVY on the cinnamon rolls. Like… an unreasonable number of rolls and plenty of different flavors. 😂

Exactly WHICH flavors? I have absolutely no idea yet. 🤣

But I’m pretty certain Birthday Cake Cinnamon Rolls 🎂🍥 are making an appearance, and obviously the OGs will be there. Beyond that, I’m letting my baker brain do its thing.

There will also be sourdough + bagels, and whatever other goodies I decide I have the time, energy and questionable judgment to make. 😂

So — NO Saturday bread day. We’re putting it ALL into one big, fully loaded SUNDAY at The Hungry Hen! 🐔
