Handmade Gourmet Donuts-- Charlotte's first and only donut food truck is now also serving handmade, fresh and delicious donuts at our new retail shop at 11914 Elm Lane in Ballantyne. Handmade Gourmet Donuts are topped and filled with our own freshly created pastry creams, glazes and icings. We offer fresh squeezed orange, lemon and lime juices and a special blend of coffee that is locally roasted here in Charlotte.

Our strawberry glaze is made with real strawberries, we don’t use the artificial flavors or food colorant, just an authentic and real glaze made in house.

Welcome 2024! ✨

We just want to say thank you to all our costumers for this amazing 2023.

We’ve never done this before, but I think it’s finally time to introduce who is behind our little donut shop.

We are Chiara and Elia, an Italian couple with a mini donut of our own coming this January! 🤰💙
We were born and raised in Italy. 🇮🇹 We love our country and culture, which you can see in our store with our espresso machine and home made Italian gelato.
We have been a part of the amazing Ballantyne community for almost 6 years, and we cannot be more proud of what we have built in these years.

Sugar Donuts is a unique American donut shop with a strong Italian influence. Everything we serve is made from scratch daily, with real and fresh ingredients, reminiscent of our Italian food culture. From dough to filling, everything we make is homemade with a lot of love.

Lastly, but certainly not least of all, I want to give a special thanks to my wife, Chiara. She is always by my side and has never left me alone in this hard work of running our shop. Chiara is the spirit of this shop, with her smile and hard work, but now it’s time for her to rest and enjoy these last few weeks before we get to meet our little boy 💙
