This is a community event that solicits donations of gently used yard sale items on Fridays and Saturdays leading up to the World Hunger Day event at the end of September. All of the proceeds from the yard sale, concessions, bake sale, silent auction, and live auction go directly to feed those in need both locally and internationally. Some of the programs helped are local Loaves & Fishes Pantry an
d the Angels and Sparrows Soup Kitchen, as well as international assistance to our friends in Bayonnais Haiti. You get to clean out your old stuff for donation, it’s sold, and the hungry are fed with the proceeds – it’s easy and EVERYBODY WINS! Like our page and keep up with how we are making a difference in sharing God’s love. History:
In 1982, a small men's prayer breakfast group from First Baptist Church Huntersville felt God's call to feed the hungry around the world. That first year, a yard sale on the church grounds raised more than $1,000 for the Southern Baptist World Hunger Fund. Since then, World Hunger Day at FBC-H has grown to include concessions, bake sale, entertainment, silent auction, live auction, and HUGE yard sale covering over 2000 feet of tables with something for everyone!
