Albemarle Sweet Shop A place to share your thoughts about the Albemarle Sweet Shop. The Albemarle Sweet Shop has been located on King Ave. since the early 1920's.

Our family is blessed to be the fifth owners of the bakery since its inception. As a traditional family owned, scratch bakery we take a great deal of pride in making sure that your experience at the bakery is just like you always remembered it. We want you to be able to return to a time in your life when you made wonderful memories. We continue to make many of the Sweet Shop favorites from the pas

t and continue to work to provide new items as well. We hope you will stop in and enjoy some of the best sweets Albemarle has to offer. We are currently working to build a new building to secure our future in downtown Albemarle. Our new location, which we hope to occupy in late summer, will be located at 310 S. Second St in downtown Albemarle (beside of the post office).

Hazy Alert!!! We have a very limited release collaboration from and , their quad hazy, The Dynasty. This quad comes in at a heavy 12% abv but certainly doesn't drink like it. This is one of the best Hazys I have tasted!! They describe this awesome pour as "The debt we pay down the line for results today. Some will say it's unfair. Others will call it resourceful. Either way it works. Maybe a little too well. An exercise in abundance with our friends at Fidens Brewing. Mashed with oats and wheat. Whirlpooled with Citra Incognito and Riwaka. Triple dry-hopped with Galaxy, Riwaka, Loza Farms Comet, Rakau, Citra Hyperboost, and Riwaka Amplifire." We are offering 12oz and 5oz pours along with 32oz and 64oz growlers. Friday Strawberry Update- We had a busy Thursday evening making another run of strawberry pies for the weekend. Are you an energetic, experienced cake decorator/customer service person looking for a place to showcase your talents? If you are and you would like to work with a family owned business, then please consider applying to join the Albemarle Sweet Shop as a cake decorator/customer service person.
The successful applicant for the position will be decorating cakes & cookies, waiting on customers, taking customer orders, and performing other bakery related duties. Previous experience decorating cakes and strong customer service skills are required.
Pay depends on experience. Position is full time and includes two weeks paid vacation leave annually; Paid Holidays (Closed for July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays); 3% 401(k) match, longevity bonus paid in December; uniform shirts provided; employee discounts on products; Consistent schedule to include no nights, Sundays and Mondays off (with the exception of a few Mondays a year); generally, off on Saturday by 3:00 p.m.
Apply in person at the bakery Tuesday thru Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, Saturday 8:30am to 2pm, No Phone Calls. Please provide photographs of your decorating abilities when completing your application or via email.
