Albemarle Sweet Shop A place to share your thoughts about the Albemarle Sweet Shop. The Albemarle Sweet Shop has been located on King Ave. since the early 1920's.

Our family is blessed to be the fifth owners of the bakery since its inception. As a traditional family owned, scratch bakery we take a great deal of pride in making sure that your experience at the bakery is just like you always remembered it. We want you to be able to return to a time in your life when you made wonderful memories. We continue to make many of the Sweet Shop favorites from the pas

t and continue to work to provide new items as well. We hope you will stop in and enjoy some of the best sweets Albemarle has to offer. We are currently working to build a new building to secure our future in downtown Albemarle. Our new location, which we hope to occupy in late summer, will be located at 310 S. Second St in downtown Albemarle (beside of the post office).

We are excited to partner with Hopfly Brewing to bring their awesome products to Albemarle. We plan to keep one of their blenders on tap to provide another taste option to our selection. Our first blender we have tapped is their Boysenberry Cheesecake Blender. It is a decadent twist on their fruit-forward sour series. Boysenberry Chessecake Blender pours a deep magenta hue with layers of tart boysenberry, sweet graham cracker, marshmallow, and a creamy cheesecake finish. It is a great dessert beer!!!

Sample Saturday!! If you are downtown today (Saturday) swing by the bakery and grab a roll (while supplies last)!! We baked another batch of our new dinner rolls this morning and want to share. Stop by the bakery and let the person waiting on you know you would like to give the rolls a try and they will gladly hand you one. We love these rolls and hope you will too!!

Friday Dinner Rolls - Dinner rolls are available again!! We baked a large run of rolls today and plan to do another this afternoon in hopes we can keep them available for your weekend meals. Friday Strawberry Update: Our Friday Strawberry Pies may possibly be our last of the season!! We have a large run of big pies and mini pies available for Friday as we used the majority of the berries we got this week. We will also have Strawberry Shortcake Cake and a few gluten free. Dinner Rolls - We are happy to let everyone know that we are slowly moving into carrying dinner rolls at the bakery. We have been baking these rolls in very small quantities for family for several holidays now and have gotten great feedback! We thought it was time to let you guys give them a try and see what you think of them. We have a small number available today and will be randomly baking them to get feedback to see if they should be a regular item. These rolls are great dinner rolls, slider rolls or sandwich rolls. They are super soft and slightly sweet making them a great addition to any meal. Let us know what you think. The rolls are packaged six to a bag and are $3.50 a bag.

Strawberries Are Back!! We have gotten another load of berries and been busy making shortcake and pies. We will have our large pies, mini pies, gluten free and shortcakes on Thursday. Saturday Food Truck Update: It looks like it might rain but our great friends at Carolina Craft BBQ are going to give it a try and come see us. Don't disappoint and let a little rain keep you from getting some great BBQ!! Our indoor seating is dry and makes a great place to eat some lunch. We hope you will stop by and see us today!!!
