🍪 Meet the Baker Behind Amanda’s Cookie Jar & More
It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself, and there are quite a few new faces here, so I thought it was time! ❤️
Hi! I’m Amanda, the baker, decorator, recipe tester, dishwasher, shopper, photographer, message-answerer, and everything else behind Amanda’s Cookie Jar & More. 😂
My love for baking started long before this little business did.
I come from a long line of women who showed their love through food. My Mom and Granny were happiest in the kitchen—cooking, baking, canning, and feeding the people they loved. They are both gone far too soon, but so much of what I do today came from them.
In fact, they're still part of this business every single day. 🌻 The sunflower in my logo is for my Mom, whose favorite flower was the sunflower, and the hummingbird is for my Granny, who loved hummingbirds. What started as a logo became my little way of carrying them with me while doing something we all loved.
What began with encouragement from family and friends has grown into more than I ever imagined. I've gotten to make cookies for birthdays, weddings, babies, graduations, holidays, celebrations and plenty of ordinary days that just needed something sweet. And somewhere along the way, I've branched out into stuffed cookies, breads, brownies, cupcakes and whatever new recipe I decide I absolutely have to try. 😂
Outside of the Cookie Jar, I'm a wife to Chris, a mom to four sons, and I also work full time—so most days you'll find me squeezing a whole lot of life (and probably a whole lot of cookie dough) into 24 hours.
But this little business is something I'm incredibly proud of. Every order, every person who stops at my booth, every Facebook share or comment, and every customer who comes back for “that cookie I got last time” helps keep it going.
So whether you've been here since the beginning or just recently found my page—thank you for being here and supporting my little home bakery. 🥰
