A staple to the Geechie community. I remember as a child, my mama and granny would only patronize his meat markets for those neck bones, ham hocks or "knucks" as granny would call them, ham chunks, and ham skins to put in some soup. We always got a dollar "wurda" lunch meat or rice pudding to eat on the ride home. Save a few slices of rice pudding for some grits in the morning.
Please slice that "butts meat" and "slab bacon" thick so when we fry um up, we can save the grease for layta in that tin can.. Don't forget the cheese with the red wax paper, for that macaroni. And my eye just being long, throw some thick cut hambaloney in there too. No need to go the grocery store, let me get a fresh loaf of Captain John Derst so when I fry that baloney, that bread can stick to the roof of my mout'. Dag I forgot to get some links!
Prayers to the Murray family. We are grieving with you. I cant recall a time I didnt go in the store and this man wasn't smiling or giving the kids a free soda or a bag of chips. My Geechee folks, we lost a legend.
Rest on Mr. Murray, you're number was called yesterday. Now serving #1.
