From my kitchen to yours....
I would like to say that I have always had a love of baking...but that wouldn’t be the truth. I struggled with the fact that if I left out 1/2 a teaspoon of something I could ruin an hour’s worth of work or if I left something in the oven for 45 seconds longer than I should, they would end up in the trash. Let alone the stirring...ugh. Then my mother-in-law gave me her old KitchenAid mixer. I would like to say that as soon as she gave it to me I used it and made incredible things...but again, not true. The fact is, I put it in my basement for over two years until one day Emma, who was just a toddler at the time, and I decided to make cookies. I retrieved the mixer, dusted it off and then my friends, my love of baking was born! The power of that paddle is amazing!! I could whip up a perfectly blended batch of cookies in no time flat and without the least bit of strain on my muscles! And not only could I create sweet sensations...I made mashed potatoes like a boss! And don’t even get me started with the shredding of chicken in two minutes flat. TWO MINUTES!
So back to baking...over the years, I have worked very hard on creating some really good cookies. I know I will die a little famous for my Cookies and Cream cookies and my sugar cookies are right up there. I thought that after I retire in a few short years that I would open some sort of bakery. But with more and more time on my hands (my how fast those children grow) I thought why not do a little baking part time? Why not?!? So I am : )
I’m starting out slowly (yeah right for anyone who knows me!). I’ve listed some of my signature cookies and some good old fashioned favorites. From time to time, I will also post some new gourmet cookies my production/quality control manager dreams up (aka my hubby Hank). About my sugar cookies...you know the ones that look like incredible works of art?? Yeah mine aren’t like that. My dough is incredibly soft as is my icing...so very detailed decorations aren’t conducive for my recipes. I can do simple designs and mix up some great colors, but won’t be able to recreate the Mona Lisa or a scene from Goldie Locks and the Three Bears...no matter how hard I try. But I’m pretty certain you will love the buttery soft almond sugar cookies with really good icing!
Prices are listed per dozen, but custom size cookies are also available by the batch. Having an event or party? I would love to set up a dessert buffet for you! Contact me for pricing.
