Dearest Sift customers & friends,

As you’ve noticed, I have taken an extended hiatus from the bakery - since February, in fact. During this time, I have taken some time to reflect and consider what I want to continue with, as running two small businesses and teaching online was wearing me down. In February, I was exhausted and burnt out. I have taken the time since February to consider my options, and I have arrived at a conclusion.

Over the past eight months, I have come to terms with the difficult decision to close Sift Baking Co. I have loved baking for you over the past few years, and I am so very grateful for your support, enthusiasm, and friendship. Baking has always been a joyful experience for me, and I hope I was able to bring a little joy and deliciousness into your life, too.

I am shifting my energy into my professional artistic endeavors. I do hope you’ll stay in touch and follow my artistic exploits. I’m on Instagram and Facebook, and you can sign up for my newsletter and see my work at www.bsundgrenstudio.com.

I’m also selling off many of my baking supplies (boxes/packaging, cookie cutters, sprinkles, etc.). Please let me know if you’d be interested in anything!

Again, I am humbled and awed by your support over the past few years, and I remain eternally grateful. Thank you.

Hey all you wonderful folks! Sift is taking a brief hiatus. Everything is fine around here - but managing two small businesses was getting to be a lot for one person (me!), and I’m taking some time to focus on and grow my art business. I so, so appreciate all of your love and support - and please stay tuned and stay in touch. This isn’t the end of Sift - just a little break to refine my vision and practice juggling just one thing at a time. You can follow my art page over at - and like I said, we’ll be back! Tomorrow: get your hands on cookies, coffee cake, and kouign-amann! Come down to Makers Market Colorado at Park Meadows between 11-1, and take home some tasty baked treats. Trust me: you don’t want to miss these kouign-amann… they’re positively delicious. Plus, place your pre-order for our Valentine’s Day treats!

Happy 2023! Thanks for your patience while we took a much-needed social media break over the holidays. We are jumping into the new year with a pop-up at at on SATURDAY. Yep, that’s right - this Saturday, 1/21. We’ll be there from 11-1 with lots of tasty treats, and we’ll be taking preorders for Valentine’s Day (swipe through to check out our menu). Can’t wait to see your smiling faces - drop by and bring a friend!

We can’t wait to pop up for Curate: A Local Mercantile’s 9th birthday celebration! Come by to see us from 12:30-2:30 on 1/28!

We’re on Cloud Nine about our 9th year in business ☁️ Wow… nearly a whole decade!

Thank you to all of our social media followers, loyal customers, vendors and our incredible team for the continued support you show our ‘lil brick and mortar shop on a daily basis.

Everyone is invited to come shop with us on Saturday, January 28th as we enjoy our 9th birthday. Visit us anytime from 10 am to 5 pm and enjoy some complimentary treats, enter our gift box giveaway, or attend one of our special pop-up shops that day. In addition, we're donating back 10% of our profits for the day to Denver's Houses For Warriors, an organization dedicated to supporting homeless military veterans through their transition off the streets and into self-sufficiency.
