📣 Big announcement 📣
From the day we made the crazy decision to open a third restaurant, one person has truly been our right hand man — Samuel Thompson. We brought Sam over from The Anchor to help manage the kitchen here at The 202. None of us had ever worked in a kitchen or restaurant this size, so that was a learning curve in itself, and Sam was also learning how to be a manager for the first time. Luckily, he’s one of the fastest learners we know (this is not a joke - Sam is crazy smart!). From getting creative in the kitchen, to handling office work, and everything in between, we watched as Sam grew into a well-respected and highly effective manager in just our first year being open.
Sam is constantly trying to figure out how we can improve quality and efficiency throughout the entire restaurant. He’s often the first one to arrive and one of the last to leave, dedicating himself fully to the restaurant. Open or closed, there is not a day that goes by that Sam does not step foot into the restaurant to work. You may not see him up front, but you can be sure that he is always in the kitchen ensuring that your meals are consistently delicious. Even on Mondays and Tuesdays when he’s not on the schedule, he is there making sure everything is in place for a smooth work week.
Because of Sam’s absolute dedication and impressive growth as a manager, we decided that we wanted to add him to our team in a more permanent way. As of March, he officially became a partial owner of The 202 Tavern!!! This is not a decision that we took lightly, but is one that we are deeply proud of making. Welcome to the team, Sam!
If you see him around, give him a congratulations because he truly deserves it 💚💙
