Jennarous Bakeshop Jennarous Bakeshop is a part time bakery owned and led by an artisan micro-baker in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. This bakery is available by private contract only.

It is not a public business with regular shopping hours. A bakeshop that started in my spare time as a hobby and has grown into a solid, enjoyable side business. I currently create all breakfast scones for The Stagecoach Inn Bed & Breakfast in Cedarburg Wisconsin. I've been hired to create desserts for local restaurants. Private orders are also welcome. Best known for my Cedarburg Sourdough bread

and cinnamon rolls. Orders run the gamut from scones, pies, schaum torte, bundt cakes, cupcakes, caramel bars, baklava and much more. And recently I've launched a pop up shop that appears on Saturdays in Cedarburg. I'm enjoying every minute of this adventure.

Garden is winding down. Last of the dill harvested and put in the freezer. Waiting for habaneros to ripen. Thai basil is being used up in multiple asian stir fry moments. Tomatoes are slow and the deer are hungry opportunists. Its a race to the garden finish.

Amazing day in the garden and kitchen! Three jars of cowgirl candy. Seven containers of pesto with basil and garlic scapes (damn, I love that color green!). And moving forward with a mish mosh of a jam. Rhubarb. Sour cherries. And a handful of blueberries. Genius next door neighbor suggested a splash of bourbon before canning. Breakfast jam with an edge? Tempting….

My dormant sourdough starter is back on my warm counter, and building/strengthening has been underway all week. “Frankenstein” will be leveraged in some test bakes in about a week or so. Stay tuned.

For tomorrow’s fundraiser, I stayed traditional with a bit of Nordic flair. Currently baking is a large pan of tart cherry-rhubarb jam bars. Crust made by hand showing streaks of Wisconsin butter. I added a layer of homemade almond cream filling (frangipane) and topped it with sliced almonds. Jam is from my personal homemade stash. Even my vanilla extract is an aged bourbon and vanilla bean homemade treasure. No crazy colorings or pre-made additions. Picture as soon as it comes out of the oven. Post bake thought: Do I dust it with powdered sugar or leave it as is?
