Because so many have asked, here’s an early reminder that holiday meals are available via our website.

Go to HEAT-AND-EAT options, and order by OCTOBER 31.

PICK UP on NOVEMBER 25 via our drive-up window between 2:00 PM and 5:00PM.

No last-minute orders this year.

This Sunday, October 11, we will have another Shawnnie’s Sunday Dinner with pick up through the drive-up window only. The second week of doing this ran a bit smoother and it sas a joy to feed so many.

Good morning! Yesterday the doorbell to the drive-up window rang and I went over and saw familiar face that I have been missing here at the shop. We gave greetings and one of the first thing that she said was I was on my way to McDonald’s and decided I was coming to you for my breakfast sandwich. We had conversation about her son and joys of being a mom. We talked until I remembered that I left something on, but I was able to make her breakfast that like she said it meant something to my dream instead of her, putting into a franchise.

When you get a chance, please be intentional about stopping by or sending an email to set up a catering. It means more to us business owners than it will ever mean to a franchise!

It’s really easy to say, “ check out that café inside of the Collins Community Credit Union building on 1st Avenue.”

It means more to us than you’ll ever know.

We have a group staff members from Taft Middle School coming over today to get their lunches as there are no students in the building so I thought it would be a good day to offer 10% OFF to anyone that works in EDUCATION. Just show your badge when you order.

Good day! Every day I hear about how weird our location is and how people just don’t remember that we serve coffees, breakfast, lunch, desserts and dinner because most food places that were well known, including the grocery store in the area, are closed.

I really do not want that to be our fate so, please, remind everyone about the café inside the credit union.

Please, consider us for caterings. We have provided company meals and desserts for 500 employees; did daily meals for one of the charter schools in town for two school years; and provided a weekly corporate meal for an international company that moved to Cedar Rapids after another big one left.

…and please, save the negativity. I see all of the things that could’ve been done differently, but I have done my best with my family and a very small crew of committed staff. I’ve also tried almost every suggestion that I could.
