Our cheesecake is not your traditional dense textured cheesecake. We use the highest quality of ingredients and slow baking processing time to ensure a creamy, smooth and flavorful experience. You are sure to finish each bite! My name is Linda. I am the creator of Gateau de Jil, A little bit about me. I didn't learn to cook until I was well in my adult years. Unfortunately, I never had the desire

to spend any time in the kitchen. I would rather study, read comic books, watch the stars and catch up on all the seasons of Star Trek! Did I mention I was a huge Trekkie? So I was extremely shocked when I created something in the kitchen that people would actually want to eat. However, baking became more than a hobby. It became therapy and my happy place. My grandmother told me that hospitality was feeding the soul. She was a wise woman. Dessert is a happy treat. Bakers should enjoy their creations! That is the only way our customers will enjoy it as well!

I’ve been asked to deliver to Lubbock next week. But I’d have to have enough orders to do so… We shall see!

I’m sad to announce that Gateau will be closing as of May 1st. I’m not going to say forever, but I’m not going to build false hopes either.

After my mom died, Gateau battled financial set back due to the time off. As I was rebuilding, my physical health took a deep turn. After nearly 6 months, I’m still battling rebuilding my health which has not allowed me to give 100 percent to Gateau. I still have some medical things I must immediately give attention to at the moment which also requires me to seek income stability as well!

This industry requires a hustle I physically do not have the strength for at the moment. And with more medical procedures to come, it’s taken lots of prayers and humility to know when it’s time to close the doors to Gateau.

I truly hope this is temporary. Gateau is so close to my heart. But if not, don’t forget the smiles she put on your faces and the extra notch in your belts!!! 🥹🥹😁😁😁

Thank you all so very much for all of your love and support these last past 4 years! I will never forget it! And who knows, a Gateau recipe book just might appear!!!

BUSINESSES PS- FRAUD ALERT Please Read

Two days ago, I received a large order. Spoke with the host by email only. I needed to confirm the order and asked to give her a call. She said “No”.

So I decided to do some research on the company because I noticed her email was coming from a Gmail account. So I asked her why didn’t she have a formal email. She begins to tell me she is an intern and this was her first “official assignment”.

She told me that the company also uses e-checks. Long story short, eventually, I proceeded with the order invoice. And let her know payment must clear before services are even started. She said the check would process in 24 hours.

Today I received the check via email as promised. Because I had my suspicion, I decided to call their bank (WHICH HAD NO ADDRESS PRINTED UNDER THE BANK- Red Flag) Neither did it have a phone number. So I called their bank!

The bank told me they couldn’t give me any information but the rep said “You know what I will do, I’ll look up the number and see if we have the company and just say YES OR NO”. Immediately I said “Look at God!” 🤭🤭🤭 Needless to say, the check is NOT VALID!! 😏

Emailed the company back. She said it was an error. Resent the check with some changes but the same numbers…. (I didn’t tell them I called the bank myself. I said my bank reflected their check)

Next I reached out to the company (Legit company) to find out neither that person nor their account manager worked for them… I found the number on google.. They were a small company and she would have been the one to order the cheesecakes…

I rejected the check and reported it as fraud!!! This is a fairly new method of “bank robbing”. Guess they pick the wrong one. They probably didn’t know who they were dealing with… I’m too broke to be playing those games!! 😏😏😏😏 Please be careful small businesses.. These frauds are like moths trapped in a room of fine linen..😏😏
