We had a cake order at school today, a simple 6 in vanilla cake, white buttercream, and a blue 1 on top. That is a part of SkillsUSA competition so it only made sense to use it as practice. So I wrote it out in a cake order form and my student went to work. Walking her through each step and explaining why each step happens and little tricks may be my favorite new thing about cake making.

Long post!

You probably think I have fallen off the face of the earth. I haven't!! But crazy busy I have been.

For those who don't know I am also a teacher, back in July I took over as our Executive Chef Instructor at our school. I had some big shoes to fill, as my mentor stepped into retirement. In true Keshia fashion I hit the ground running and I haven't slowed down.

What does that mean for The Crummiest Bakery you might ask, it just means less festivals and more customs orders. Baking is still my jam you can tell that from some of the stuff I decide to teach 🤷‍♀️.

For now, enjoy some pictures of the AMAZING things my students have been up to since school started, we have been catering machines and some fresh chip chip hooray cookies I just pulled from the oven.
