It was fun making these little birthday cakes. First time making my own fondant. That was a lot of fun because you don’t realize you’re actually making adult play dough. 😁 . The chocolate cake recipe is amazing because of the level of moistness it creates. I’m not big on dense and dry cakes, as I’m sure most people aren’t either. However, it holds its form well. The secret to keeping good form on cakes is before you frost is let it cool completely and then refrigerate it for at least an hour. Do a crumb coat. Then finish with your buttercream. After applying your frosting is when you lay down your fondant.
Just a quick tutorial for anyone who might be curious about how to properly frost a cake😅
Oh-also, not sure if anyone is aware of something that involves cookies and fondant. Some people like the look of a stamped shaped fondant on top of their sugar cookies. It gives a very uniform look. That will be my next creation. Let me know your thoughts!😊
