44 North Coffee our wonderful coffee supplier is full of amazing people just trying to do a little good in the world. Here is a little bit about them:

44 North sources their beans through Cooperative Coffees, a roaster-owned co-op built on fair and equitable trading practices. In 2018, 44 North became full vested members — meaning they have a real ownership stake, a seat at the table, and a vote in how the co-op operates.

Every coffee sourced through Cooperative Coffees is certified Fair Trade and Organic, grown as sustainably as possible. But the co-op goes beyond standard Fair Trade — they’ve established a minimum floor price of $2.20 per pound for all contracted coffees, so farmers can plan their futures with confidence regardless of volatile global market prices.

On top of that, roaster-members pay an additional $.20 per pound that goes into an impact fund — used to finance infrastructure, educational, and social projects chosen by the farmers and their communities themselves.

From plant to cup, every person along the way has been thoughtfully considered. That’s the kind of coffee we’re proud to serve. ☕
