Today is World Health Day! What better day to get some yummy sourdough into the mix? Sourdough bread contains higher levels of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants than other breads. It is more easily digested; it is good for your gut; it promotes healthy aging; and it can help keep blood sugars in a healthy range. Sounds healthy to me!!

I'd like to introduce you to my partner in breadmaking. This is Justin. He's my sourdough starter, and he's the reason for the flavor, the texture, and ALL the goodness in our sourdough! Justin recently had to move into a new "house" since he was outgrowing his old one.

And yes - you HAVE to give a name to your sourdough starter. After all, he's a living, breathing thing!
