♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I’ve always found business names fascinating because there’s usually a story, a meaning, or a little piece of someone’s heart behind them.
For us, the name felt fitting in more ways than one. Of course, we offer both sweet treats and savory eats, but beyond that, this little home bakery has truly become a dual partnership between my husband and me.
What started as a love for baking slowly turned into something much deeper — a shared dream, late-night conversations in the kitchen, flour-covered counters, tired eyes, and moments we’ll probably look back on for years to come.
My husband, Jordan, is actually food manager certified too (before Dual Delights was even a thought). He also earned his degree in Baking & Pastry from the Art Institute of California back in 2013. While I’m usually the face you see most often, he’s a huge part of what keeps this little business going. He’s there for the late nights of packaging and labeling, the early mornings, the deliveries, the heavy lifting, the encouragement when I’m exhausted, and all the little behind-the-scenes moments people don’t always get to see.
One of my favorite parts about this journey is that it’s given us more time together. Life gets busy, chaotic, and overwhelming sometimes, but baking has become something that grounds us and brings us back to each other. There’s something really special about building something side-by-side with the person you love.
As a Marine Veteran, Jordan is now pursuing another passion and recently started a new position with the Veteran’s Assistance Commission here in Carlinville. I’m incredibly proud of him and all the ways he continues to serve and support others. The added bonus? We finally get weekends together again… which means YAY for more markets together! 🤍
At the end of the day, Dual Delights is so much more than bread and sweets. It’s teamwork, sacrifice, laughter, long nights, learning as we go, and creating something meaningful together.
So the next time you stop by our booth, just know there’s a whole lot of heart behind every loaf, cookie, and tasty treat we put on the table. 💛
