The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization which encourages informed and active participation in government. It was established nationally in 1920 and haas been for decades one of the most respected grassroots organizations in the country. ers of Jackson County serves the community by registering voters, holding candidate forums, sponsoring mock elections in the schools and making presentations at community meetings. They promote their opinion on public issues by giving testimony at public hearings and meeting with elected officials.
