When I started to make cakes, it was just to provide the best for my children on a budget. I am a single mother working for minimum wage and simply could not afford to pay for the quality of cake that I wanted my children to have on their birthdays. For years, I listened to friends and family tell me that I should really make a business out of it because for a self-taught amateur I really was pret

ty good at this. My goal for this business is to make quality affordable and slightly more extravagant cakes and create financial stability for my children. I dream of being able to put a percentage of my profits toward an organization called “Into the Jordan” to help women who have been abused and trafficked. My hope is that this business will teach my children that hard work pays off and that this business can provide not just for me and my children but for the women coming from hard situations who need help standing on their own two feet.
