Two years ago I opened the doors on my building for the baking business. I was so excited and hopeful. Things didn’t turn out as planned, as happens in life sometimes. I just wanted you all to know that I have decided to close the business. I have been sad and depressed looking at my little building where all my products, hopes and dreams once stood. After awhile, I asked myself how I could put it to good use to make myself happy again. I started taking things out and replacing them with things that brought me peace and joy. A place for me, we, us. No negative talk; just a radio to listen to, the birds, my kitties, books, a journal, a sketch pad and a fridge with cold beverages and cups for hot. I’m sharing an inside view of our happy place; our “We” shed or Hermit hut 😄. I appreciate all of you that believed in me and blessed me with your patronage. I proved to myself that an allergy free product could be made to taste good. I will keep the business name, Facebook and Instagram page and will post all things beautiful and positive. Any art pieces will be offered through my Broody Barn Page.
Maybe we can share a glass, cup or conversation in the future. Until then, much Love, Peace and Harmony your way.

Yesterday we lost the Marriarch of our family. She was classy, sassy and kick-assy. She was a fashionista, the best gift giver and present wrapper ever. She took so much pride in making everything look fancy whether it be her home with her decorating and sewing skills to the gardens she enjoyed working in. I am so thankful to have had her as a mother in law in my life, as well as in my children’s as their Gram. Her gift was working in the fashion world and she loved to shop and find a deal. She took me shopping for my wedding gown when my Mom couldn’t. I feel so privileged to have shared the end of her journey with her.
Rest in peace Angel. Keep everyone in line up there and make it even more of a beautiful place. Today I woke up to a single cactus bloom that never bloomed at Easter. Thank you Shirl. 🩷 We’re gonna miss you until we meet again.

One year ago tomorrow I opened my stand. I was so excited with so many ideas and you all believed in me. I appreciate it so. I’ve had to put my business aside yet again as other events in life have taken priority. We are caring for loved ones and it has taken all of our time. We all experience what life hands us as we age. We just want to make this time count and make it the best it can be. May your weekend be spent with friends and family as we honor those that have fallen for our country. Until we meet again, peace and love your way. ~Kim

I had the pleasure of making these lovely carrot cakes for a lovely lady’s birthday celebration! Gluten free, made healthier with applesauce, reduced coconut sugar and all tied up with a candle. You can still place an Easter order by the end of tonight.

It’s been a while since I’ve made a post and I apologize. I just didn’t know what to write so I let it rest until now.

The Holidays were wonderful spending it with family and we welcome in a new year. I took down our real Christmas tree and missed it so much I dug out my old primitive one and donned it with white lights, seasonal snowmen and hearts! This is my morning view while having my coffee with my companion Winnie. Both of the girls had to check out the trunk. 😹

Health wise, my latest CT scan showed continued healing. I now wait 6 months until the next one so I‘m just going to live my life and do my best to stay healthy.

Business wise, I am contemplating future plans. A year ago I was so excited to start my gluten free baking business! I really enjoyed doing it, had some great experiences and cherish the people I’ve met. Then, the world spun out of control with health issues, the cost of ingredients, ink, packaging, etc., not to mention the electricity. The egg memes are funny but true. The struggle is real. I’ve decided to put the baking on the back burner for a while, (no pun intended😉), and see where this all goes.
I‘ll be working on my art and posting items as they are available. I am going to plan a few seasonal open houses as well. If there is anything special you would like to see please reach out with suggestions.

Thank you so much for all your support. It means so much. Let’s all focus on the good in the new year.
All the best,
Kim ☮️

Hello my friends! Kitty picture for cuteness beside my CT scans.
An unexpected change of events for me.
My surgery was cancelled as my insurance company denied it on the 19th because they found it experimental! They’d rather I have a hole sawed into my head. Didn’t find out until Hartford hospital double checked yesterday and it wasn’t covered. The surgery coordinator missed it and I spent my week having pre-op physical, EKG, blood and Covid tests. I am just numb right now and disgusted with the whole thing.
On a positive note and a blessing, my hematoma shrunk in half in a month! Shrinkage is a good thing here! There had been no reduction in size for a few months so I chose the less invasive procedure. Scan from a month ago at 17mm and recent is down to 8!
I Truly believe all your prayers and my diet adjustment is what did it. I studied healing the brain and found B vitamins and Folate to be huge so I add nutritional yeast and sublingual supplement to my diet. I also cut out all sugar again. That and a week in VT and ta-da!
Anyway now I have another scan in 2 months and hope it’s gone and in the meantime try not to bump my head. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! The proof is in the pictures. ❤️

My favorite time of year! I took some time to decorate the stand a bit and I love the Fall feel. I found a new “Gratitude” door mat and a cute little “Good Vibes” sign.

We spent some time in Vermont relaxing with our family on Bolton Valley Mountain. Spectacular foliage color this year.

To update you, surgery for my subdural hematoma is scheduled for Oct. 31st, Halloween! Wishing for all treats and no tricks. 🎃 Praying that this procedure allows my body to absorb it over time.

Until next time, Peace, Gratitude and Good Vibes

Happy Fall Y’all! My favorite time of year. We planted a few kinds of pumpkin seeds that we saved from last year and this was the only one that survived the drought and critters.
Just wanted to give you an update on my situation. As of my latest CT, my subdural hematoma hasn’t shrunk like we had hoped. I was offered a craniotomy, to wait again or to be referred to Hartford for a newer less invasive procedure. I chose to be referred for an MMA embolization and am now waiting on them to contact me.
I have so many Fall recipes that I want to make but I don’t want to open up the stand a week and have to close again another. Please bear with me until we get through this. I can’t wait for French apple pie and pumpkin muffins to be baking in the oven. Until then, peace, love and happy thoughts! ☮️🧡😊
