You name it, they probably have it: Candles, handmade mugs, custom clothing, golf gear, even pet goods — all under one roof in downtown Mission.

913 Mercantile opens its doors Wednesday with more than 90 vendors, roughly 90% of them local. The new marketplace takes over the Mission Mart space just off Nall Avenue and Johnson Drive that used to house an antique and consignment shop.

Owners Tyler and Lindsey Bonine say it's their response to the closing earlier this year of The Painted Tree marketplace locations around the country, including in the KC area. They used to be vendors there themselves and know the anxiety and heartache other artisans like them are feeling.
