Yesterday the babes and I visited our favorites baristas, Manon and Jessie for a toasted marshmallow latte special ☕️ on a rainy day.

And today is sticky bun Saturday! Instead of my usual icing, I made cream cheese frosting for this week. Consider it me making up for no cinnamon rolls last week.

Did you guys know that the Crust and Co. family is getting a new house!? Which means I will (relatively) soon be able to bulk buy all the flour y’all put me through, because pantry space was a top priority 🫡.

While we are in the midst of the building process (which feels very foreign to me), I am anxiously awaiting to get back to the baking grind as our schedule allows.

My sourdough cinnamon rolls have by far been one of my most loved, and bestselling goodies. So as I am preparing a few dozen for sticky bun Saturday at the Raindrop, enjoy a few fun facts about how I make these little guys:

1. My recipe is a sourdough inspired adaptation of Sally Clarkson’s recipe in her book The Life Giving Table.

2. I use in every cinnamon roll batch, I can go through a half gallon of honey in no time (sourdough loves the sugars in honey, if you have a struggling starter, treat it to a tablespoon of honey at your next feeding).

3. Nearly every batch is made with fresh local eggs!

4. I actually do not measure most of the ingredients, I rely on how the dough/filling feels to know when it’s just right. Practice makes perfect!

5. I hand knead the dough….for like a really long time. The bigger the batch the better the workout 💪. It really does make a huge difference in the texture of the final product

Bonus fact: I recently caught my oven on fire making cinnamon rolls because I accidentally dripped some of the filling in the oven, and it bursted into flames. So I cried and ended up feeding my family some ✨smoked✨ sourdough cinnamon rolls 😂
