Now hiring a full time Cook/ Chef with 3 years of African cuisine experience
Well established food service Group located on the Maryland Eastern shore is seeking a talented and experienced African Cook/Chef to join our African culture rooted culinary team. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and contribute to the success of a renowned food service group. Offering a unique Cultural food experience creating a African/ African American culinary food and culture to explore along the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway.
Responsibilities:
• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook African dishes with precision and attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality standards are consistently met.
Food to be prepared includes below but not limited to the following Ghanaian cuisine:
• Banku with different accompaniments (okra stew, palmnut soup etc)
• Fufu with light soup
• Tuo Zaafi with different accompaniments
• Waakye etc
• Kitchen Management: Oversee kitchen operations, including food ordering, inventory management, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to foster a positive and efficient working environment, ensuring smooth communication and coordination during busy periods.
• Quality Control: Monitor and maintain the quality of all dishes served, adhering to health and safety regulations and customer satisfaction standards.
• Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to changing menus, seasonal ingredients, and customer preferences.
Requirements:
• Proven Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cook/Chef in an African restaurant.
• Ability to prepare local African food with precision.
• Any Culinary Qualification will be an advantage.
• Passion for food
• Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in food preparation, presentation, and overall kitchen hygiene.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing culinary trends and customer preferences.
