It was a Happy Easter on this gorgeous sunny day in the PNW. We celebrated with a devine classic carrot cake filled with carrots, coconut, raisins, walnuts and spices. The buttermilk buttercream sealed the bunny sugar cookies on the outside of cake for extra cuteness.

It’s a crisp cool sunny spring morning in the . It seemed appropriate to make my very favorite French Pastry, Pains Aux Raisins. When I saw this recipe in the Magazine I almost did a cartwheel. There is just something about the Brandy soaked raisins and vanilla bean paste that create perfection in my mouth.

I made a stop at to enjoy a thoughtfully brewed cup of coffee, and stumbled across a sourdough chocolate chip cookie. I’m always up for a variation of a chocolate chip cookie. And yes, it tastes exactly like sourdough, a little dense and not too sweet. 🍪

It’s my favorite Christmas experience of the season. My annual Cookie Decorating Party. It’s a time to create together and slow down. And, it’s absolutely amazing the beautiful cookies that 10lbs of butter can bring to the table.

Bake From Scratch Magazine recently published a wonderful spread on bakeries in Hawaii. While visiting Maui this past week I found myself tasting a lot of baked goods since the ocean had other plans of wild waves (scroll to end for video). There are a couple of bakeries to add to the BFS list: - A new Argentinian bakery in Lahaina featuring sourdough bread, coco bars, pistachio croissants, banana bread to name a few specialties. in Kihei featuring malasadas to die for in lilikoi, coconut, vanilla, maple, ube and chocolate. You will be surrounded by friendly chickens while waiting for your baked goods. recommended by BFS was amazing with more Argentinian flare featuring alfajores, guava croissants, coconut rolls and so much much ore. I cannot wait to go back and enjoy even more of their offerings. I really admire all of the creativity and hard work they dedicate every single day. 🍞🍪🍰🌴🌺🐓

🍎🍎🍎APPLE CAKE WITH PEANUTBUTTER GLAZE🍎🍎🍎. These Fuji and Braeburn Apples were picked right off my Dads apple tree here in Washington State. This recipe was inspired by and used caramel. I decided to do a flavor throwback with apples and peanutbutter. Another tasty treat as we roll into Fall!🍁

August. It’s my favorite month of the year. Billions of blackberries everywhere which motivated me to bake a delicious galette. The first sunflower opened today. 🌻 The marigold garden is thriving and the honey bees 🐝 are working hard in their hives. I’m excited to help my Dad extract honey 🍯 in September.

My Mom surprised me today. With a homemade boysenberry pie. She picked the berries from her garden just like we did as kids. She used to tell us, “If you pick the berries, I will make a pie.” It was the best part of summer growing up. Today took me straight back to my childhood and I enjoyed every bite from my memories to my taste buds. 🥧Thanks Mom🥧
