Some cakes are great in theory. This one was for my family's Thanksgiving. It's a chocolate orange cake inspired by those "whack and unwrap" Christmas ones. They are a beloved family tradition, so it felt like a great cake flavor to combine the family togetherness of Thanksgiving and the tradition of Christmas. Unfortunately, this cake didn't survive the 5 hour road trip. Good thing it's the thought that counts and that there is never a shortage of dessert at Thanksgiving.
