🌿 This Week We’re Building… The Simple Things

Not every week needs a big flavor.

Sometimes the things I find myself coming back to are the simplest ones—the loaf of bread sitting on the counter for morning toast, sandwiches packed for the day, or something warm to put beside dinner.

And as we settle into September, that’s what felt right for this week.

So The Simple Things is exactly that. 🤍

🍞 Plain Sliced Sourdough — my classic sourdough, sliced and ready for toast, sandwiches, or the dinner table.

🌿 Garden Herb Butter — creamy homemade butter with fresh chives and thyme picked from the garden. A little piece of summer that’s still growing right outside my door.

🤍 Vanilla Bean Sourdough Scones — buttery, tender, lightly sweet and full of vanilla. The kind of simple treat that just needs a cup of coffee.

🍎 Apple Ginger Kombucha — crisp apple with fresh ginger. Just a little hint of the season beginning to change without rushing summer out the door quite yet.

Nothing complicated this week.

Just good bread.
Fresh herbs from the garden.
Something sweet with coffee.
Something bubbly to pour into a glass.

The simple things that make ordinary days feel a little more special.

Another little collection made for the season we’re actually living—from our home to yours. 🤍

🌿 This Week We’re Building: The Blackberry Bramble Collection

August is beginning to shift.

The garden is heavy with beans, the first tomatoes are finally ripening, and tucked among all that green, blackberries are having their moment. Deep purple, sweet, a little tart, and the kind of fruit that makes you want to use it while the season gives it to you.

So while the beans and tomatoes are headed to our own table and being tucked away for later, the blackberries are making their way into this week’s basket. 🤍

This week we’re building…

🥖 Blackberry Bramble Sourdough
Naturally leavened sourdough swirled with blackberry and finished with a buttery brown-sugar oat crumble. Rustic, jammy and just sweet enough.

🧈 Vanilla Honey Butter
Soft whipped butter with honey, real vanilla and a touch of sea salt. Simple on purpose—and made for spreading generously over the Blackberry Bramble loaf.

🍪 Blackberry Cheesecake NYC Sourdough Cookie
A thick, bakery-style sourdough cookie with blackberry and a creamy cheesecake center. This one might require eating over the kitchen sink. 😂

🍹 Blackberry Sage Kombucha
Juicy blackberry paired with fresh sage for an herbal, refreshing late-summer kombucha that’s a little unexpected.

🥚 Fresh Multi-Colored Eggs
From our girls, while available.

I love watching these weekly collections follow what’s happening outside my kitchen window. Not everything the garden grows needs to become something I sell. Much of it feeds our family or gets preserved for the months ahead.

But every once in a while, something growing out there sparks an idea that makes its way into the bakery.

This week, it’s the blackberries. 🫐🌿

Orders for The Blackberry Bramble Collection are OPEN.
