Making formulations is something that I often do not have time for so I end up purchasing a lot of my supplementation from really good companies. Once in a while, though, I do take the time to make something important to me, such as this balm of Gilead. This is a blessing oil and we use it when praying, and it is excellent to put on the end of hair where it is splitting or drying coarse , as well as hands and feet. The cottonwood buds here were hand picked about three years ago from a young herbalist out west. I try to buy my supplements from small places when I can to help them. For 3 years , the buds have sat in a high quality , organic olive oil with bulgarian rose oil, and a dropper or 2 of rosemary oil, which is known to help keep the hair from turning Gray and helps protect the brain, aids focus and to diminsh brain fog. This is an external application, however. It is quite aromatic and does wonders to soften the hair and help keep it from breaking. I don't put it all the way up to the scalp , though , just on the bottom older part of my hair, as it may irritate the scalp and face.
