As we step into a brand New Year, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and shared in this little dream of mine. Jo Jo’s Traveling Teatime is just getting started, and 2026 is already steeping with exciting plans, beautiful gatherings, and plenty of perfectly poured tea.

Here’s to fresh beginnings, new traditions, and taking the time to slow down and enjoy something special. I can’t wait to bring Afternoon Tea to your tables in the year ahead.

Rolos were invented in Britain in 1937 by John and Violet Mackintosh. Toffee and chocolate, what’s not to like ?

CHERRY BAKEWELL COOKIES
To ice or not to ice ?? I have made these cookies three times now, and I am trying to decide if I should drizzle a little white chocolate or icing along one of the sides. I kind of like them the way they are, but they are not stopping traffic 😂

SWISS ROLL
Surprisingly so, the Swiss Roll did not originate in Switzerland. Some food scholars have suggested Australia, Germany, Hungry, or France with recipes dating back to 1856 in England. A crowd favorite in England, the Swiss Roll is made in many different varieties, chocolate, lemon, pistachio … but the overwhelming crowd favorite is the simple strawberry jam Swiss Roll.

CORNFLAKE TART !!!
Aaaaah who remembers school dinners ? Growing up in England, allowed me to develop a very distinguished palate. So many culinary delights ! (Of course, I jest !) But here’s an oldie but goodie. Invented by a school dinner lady in the 1970’s in an attempt to use up any old cereal. Short crust pastry, strawberry jam and topped with a golden syrupy dollop of cornflakes ! What’s not to like?
