Yiayias.Baklava I treasure the memories I have of cooking with my Yiayia and hold her recipes very close to my heart.

I started baking baklava in my Yiayia’s kitchen over 60 years ago. Yiayia would let me brush butter onto the phyllo sheets in between the layers of nuts. She and I spent many years recreating the delicacies from recipes she brought from Greece. Now I find great joy cooking in the kitchen with my children and my children’s children.

I have been having lots of fun creating my own tea blends, using organic tea leaves, dried fruits, herbs and spices. Today I made some black tea with the orange and lemon peel I dried. I mixed the tea leaves with some crushed cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. SO YUMMY!!

I would like to share my excitement with my new favorite kitchen tool, Silicone Freezer Trays, with lids. They hold 16oz of soup/sauce and make perfect cubes. You let them freeze for a day or two, until solid and pop the cubes out and store in Ziplock bags. Two fit perfectly in a gallon size Ziplock and they stack in your freezer like perfect bricks. I LOVE them! I got them on Amazon and left the link in the pictures below.
