As Memorial Day approaches, we want to extend our thanks to our local veterans’ groups for their efforts over the last several years to bring back Burlington’s Memorial Day Parade. It’s a time-honored community tradition, and more importantly, a chance to honor our fellow Americans who lost their lives in service to our country.

We were saddened to hear that the parade will not take place this year, and knew that it was time to pick up the baton and mobilize a group of citizens and businesses to bring it back in 2027. We reached out to Mike Olson and VFW Post 2823 and are working with them to take over organizing and fundraising for the parade going forward. We will be sharing more information with the public as those plans take shape.

While there is no parade this year, all are welcome to attend the Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 25 at Echo Veterans Memorial Park. The ceremony begins at 9am and is organized by the Marine Corps League Fox River Chapter #590, Anderson-Murphy VFW Post 2823, Ross Wilcox American Legion Post 79, and the Twin County Chapter 34 Disabled American Veterans. A big thank you to those groups for keeping this important tradition alive.

One thing we don’t talk about enough is our assortment of house-made bagels. Our baker, Jenny, is a bagel expert (and no, she won’t tell you her bagel-making secrets.) We offer several varieties: plain, cinnamon-raisin, everything, parmesan garlic rosemary, and asiago. We also have a monthly special flavor which ranges from chocolate chip, to sesame, to jalapeño cheddar, to our personal favorite, dill pickle!

Stop in and see why we’ve been told our bagels are as good or better than the NYC version!

Early meeting at work? Why not be the office hero and bring in bagels for the group! Place a wholesale order with the team and we’ll have them packed and ready to go when you arrive.
