My only regret was not taking a picture once it was cut into, because you KNOW I had to fill the inside up with sprinkles and candy to give it a little something extra. 🍬

When the daughter of one of your good friend’s 7th birthday is coming up, and you learn that she’s gotten super into Harry Potter⚡️…

You say, “ok, cake’s taken care of” and immediately start thinking ✨”how do I make this as special and magical as possible…”✨

Easily one of my favorite cakes to date, and I’m pretty sure little Ella liked it too 😍

Bottom cake: confetti cake with peanut butter frosting (mom’s favorite)

It’s been a WHILE since I’ve posted any cake pictures, but I’m working to get back into the swing of things bc I miss it and you all! Initially things slowed down with the pandemic. We then bought a house so weekends dedicated to creating cakes turned into weekends dedicated to house projects…you know, turning the house into a home sorta thing (3 yrs later and the honey-do list is still as long as ever 🤦🏻‍♂️). All that to say, I have still been baking! Albeit a few times a year, but those periodic times I have made cakes served as reminders to why I loved it in the first… it’s always been my creative outlet to relieve stress, anxiety and to let the right side of my brain do its thing.

Here’s one those cakes, made for a good friend for her birthday, with her favorite flavors: vanilla white cake w peanut butter frosting, and her favorite colors brought to life with food gels 😍

🎄Merry Christmas Eve🎄 everyone! Squeezing in one more holiday cake!

This cake is a 4 layer strawberry cake, with vanilla buttercream and strawberry filling in between each layer. Topped with white chocolate ganache and white chocolate dipped strawberries. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! ⭐️

The latest holiday cake to come out of the kitchen! It’s been a while since I used 3D Ball Cake Pan, plus I’ve never made an ornament cake, and with all the beautiful ornament cakes I’ve been seeing, it just felt like the stars were aligning for me to make one!

This cake is a six inch round chocolate ornament cake, with vanilla buttercream frosting. I used Sky Blue food gel to get that awesome shade of blue, covered it in blue sugar crystals to achive that glitter look, and used a variety of snowflake fondant cutters for those sparkly fondant snowflakes.

I’m so very excited to share this cake with you all! This cake was part of .by.dae‘s collaboration, celebrating her 2 year bakeiversary! This is actually my VERY FIRST Instagram baking collab, and couldn’t be happier to take part!! Shardae, you were a fantastic host, and I’m so happy to have met you and the rest of the bakers in this collab effort! Absolutely LOVING this baking community!!

I’ve been wanting to make a hot cocoa mug shaped cake for over a year now, so this was the perfect excuse! For the cake, I decided on my very chocolate cake, with peppermint frosting, and because I LOVE marshmallows, I’ve also added in marshmallows in between each cake layer.

The top decorations are a combination of select marshmallows, because let’s be real, I’m the “Do you want any hot cocoa with your marshmallows” kinda guy. The chocolate snowman is actually a hot cocoa bomb (I KNOW!), and of course, had to also include a candy cane stick to round out the toppers!

🍁Happy Happy Thanksgiving, Friends!!🍁

While I know this year may not have the same look and feel as prior holidays, the sentiments remain the same. I remain thankful for my family, friends, and especially learning from my mistakes because good lord are there plenty of those when I bake!!

Fall floral inspired cake! It’s been a while since I used flowers for my cake designs and thought what better excuse than for a fall themed cake, especially since some of the most beautiful flowers that bloom this time of year yield such vibrant colors.

The flowers were certainly what inspired the colors for this cake, and I really wanted to focus on bringing out those rich variations of reds, oranges, yellows, and greens. For gel colors I used Super Red, Lemon Yellow, and Leaf Green, and to achieve that more muted but rich fall coloring, I blended in a few drops of Chocolate Brown into each of the other colors. For an added pop of glam, I used edible gold leaf, and gold sprinkles on the top.

A shot of my latest skull inspired cake! For this cake, I really wanted to stick to darker colors so I went with a charcoal grey for the outside frosting, accenting with black skulls, “true black” luster dust covered cherries, and a black semi-sweet chocolate ganache. For the cake favors, I chose my “very chocolate” (and very moist) chocolate cake recipe, my vanilla frosting for the inside of the cake, and my chocolate frosting for the outside. You guys, the combo of double chocolate + vanilla + touches of coffee notes in the cake and the chocolate frosting were out of this world!! Recipes below!

It’s been two weeks since the Beirut explosion and my heart is still aching, especially for family and friends that no longer have homes to go to or have lost someone close to them, all while having to concurrently deal with a collapsing economy and global pandemic.
