They say every wedding tells a love story.
But from the baker's view... you get to witness the chapters that happen in between.
Throughout the years, I've found myself placing cupcakes on dessert tables while overhearing a bride's mom laughing with an old friend about the little girl who once twirled around the living room in a princess dress....now only moments away from walking down the aisle to her prince charming.
Across the room, a groom's best man....once his partner in scraped knees, teenage shenanigans, and dreams bigger than they knew what to do with...is straightening his tie and quietly reminding him to breathe.
A florist adds one last bloom. A photographer adjusts a veil. A planner smooths a tablecloth. A DJ tests the music one last time. We're all strangers brought together by the same purpose: helping bring to life a day that always begins with two people simply falling in love.
Then the guests arrive.
I hear the belly laughs.
I see the happy tears.
I finally put faces to the names I've spent months - - sometimes years - - emailing back and forth as we dreamed up this day together.
The cake is cut.
The cupcakes disappear.
The flowers eventually fade.
Most of what we create only lasts a few hours.
But the moments... the quiet ones that happen before the ceremony begins and between all the photographs... those stay with me.
Long after the last crumb is gone, I still remember the laughter, the hugs, the tears, and the overwhelming feeling that love has an incredible way of bringing people together.
And I think that's the sweetest thing I get to take home from every wedding. 🤍
