Our Greens Prairie Shipley Do-Nuts in south College Station is now a permanent drop-off spot for new and gently used clothing for our local Salvation Army.
Swing by, grab a donut, and drop your donations in the bin right in our lobby. Every item helps someone in our community feel seen, confident, and cared for.
During the month of February our Salvation Army Business Connections Committee held a Behind The Red Shield Event. After the event we gathered to discuss the event. We were impressed with the turnout in spite of the freeze.. We took note of what we'd like to focus on moving forward. Making a month long fundraising event for specific needs. March was all about children's clothes for our clothing closet as we noticed we barely had any. Shelly Hood Archer with Shipley Do-Nuts of Bryan and College Station, Texas and valued board member, who leads our Business Connections Committee dropped off a donation today. At our last business meeting a collection from our advisory board and the staff with the intent for Shelly to buy as much as she can with it. She's been doing just that! Today she dropped 157 items off. In the pouring down rain with her granddaughter by her side. Teaching the importance of service in action. We thank everyone! To all who've contributed to this, the advisory board, staff, and those who are lifting us in prayer. This is what love in action looks like!
