Yes it’s been a while

Apparently pie stocks at the Reading Greenhouse Farm Market are running low so next up is a new flavor…..Roasted Butternut squash and feta.

Roasted squash with sumac , caramelized onions and feta wrapped in our hot water crust pastry, make this a warming filling pie just right for these chilly days. You may even want to take in a beverage in the Oasis and have one for “lunch on the go”

Big shout out to the community for dragging yourself out in the scorching heat to visit the Reading Greenhouse Farm Market and the Wine and Cheese event

The hosts were as awesome as ever welcoming a significant number of guests ready to taste the local fare.

Particular thanks go out to Spring Brook Farm Cheese for the fondue recipe and cheese that made the fondue station such a success. By a rough “the eyes have it” polling Kidding Around Farm sourdough was the preferred bread dipper

The good news is that the cholesterol tests that were brought in for the event never got used

Sunnier days ahead this weekend So let’s get rid of those winter blues and get on down to the oasis at Reading Greenhouse Farm Market this Saturday

Not only is this a great place to visit, if you are luckily enough to be there between 2 and 4 pm you will experience great vibes, warm greetings from the staff and a Wine and Cheese tasting. Check out the Greenhouse FB page for all the details of the local cheese makers and wine experts who will be there to answer your questions and help you decide how to enjoy their products

As the lyrics say “ taste and try before you buy” ( extra chunk of cheese for anyone who remembers the song “

The greenhouse have organized a Fondue Station featuring the gorgeous alpine cheeses from Spring Brook farm with a selection of “dippers” that are also available in the store ( Kidding Around Farm Sourdough, broccoli florets and boiled fingerling potatoes)

It’s been a while and our apologies.

I decided to cook the filling for a Vegetarian Chili Pot Pie in the slow cooker. Only took a few weeks and I think I didn’t compensate for the new year changeover

Nonetheless we hope you enjoy them either in the Oasis Lounge at Reading Greenhouse Farm Market or at home

These are vegan and have three different beans, onion, celery, tomato, sweet potato and carrots. The gravy is flavored with the warm spices of paprika, chile lime and lemon pepper

Not meant as a tease as we haven’t been able to make these for a while but for those who are interested in learning more about our bakes here is a good one

Khachapuri has a rich history and is a staple is Georgian households. While the ingredients vary by region, this cheesy bread is always sure to be delicious.

Dear Reading Greenhouse Farm Market customers. My apologies in advance but the Head Baker at BlaydonBakery has succumbed to that “ under the weather syndrome “ and has retreated to his bed to recover. As a result there will not be a bagel delivery Tuesday.

Don’t believe there is a need to get the black paint out and put an X on the door but will keep you appraised

It’s the weekend and we are about to deliver a batch of ADJARULI KHACHAPURI

Three “flavors”, Roasted butternut squash ( with sumac), roasted delicata squash and artichoke.

All three made with the softest Fatayer dough and a mix of sheeps, cow and farmers cheese with za’atar and Adjika

Got to tell you these sell out quickly so don’t be disappointed. Delivery at 10:00 am only at Reading Greenhouse Farm Market

Homity Pot Pie filling is on the stove. When cooled these will be made up in cheddar infused hot water crust pastry, baked and delivered to the Reading Greenhouse Farm Market tomorrow morning ( along with bagels) around 10.00am
