Basil isn’t just for dinner. It’s been associated with prosperity, abundance, protection, love and luck—and it’s one of my favorite examples of why witchcraft doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated.

Yes, the grocery-store basil counts.
Yes, the dried basil in your spice cabinet counts. 😂

Work with what you have. Set your intention. Make your practice yours.

Okay, for the newer witches, we need to talk about something because I see this all the time.

You do not need to work with a deity to practice witchcraft.

Social media can make it seem like everybody has a deity, an altar for them, and some dramatic story about how they were called—and you need that too.

You don’t.

Deity work can be a beautiful part of your practice, but it doesn’t have to be part of your practice at all.

Your witchcraft is still valid without it.

This is the part I love. 🖤

Spent part of my Saturday at Little Shop of Floras 🪴 A Strange & Interesting Plant Shop letting some of you smell the new fall candle scents + ritual oils before they officially make their way into the world.

We smelled things. We laughed. I got some REALLY good feedback. And apparently one scent needs more smoke. 😂🌫️ Message received.

But mostly, I just really loved getting to hang out and talk with everyone who came by.

I love the Anderson community. Y’all have shown me so much love over the years, and days like today remind me why I love doing this. 🖤

Thank you to everyone who came out, smelled some things, laughed with me, and gave me your thoughts.

And yes, I’m making the smoky one smokier. 😂
