THE HEART OF NEW MARKET: 162 YEARS LATER ⚔️🩺

If you are out at the Virginia Museum of the Civil War at New Market Battlefield today for the 162nd Commemoration, you know the air is full of history. This year, the VMI Museum is highlighting the incredible advancements in wartime medicine and the caretakers who aided the fallen.

For me, that history isn't just in a textbook. It’s in my blood.

📜 Our Family’s Story:
My 1st cousin (4x removed) was Eliza 'Crim' Clinedinst. 162 years ago, as the battle raged across the Bushong Farm, Eliza opened her Main Street home to nurse the wounded VMI cadets. She became a legendary symbol of compassion during the town's darkest hour. Her story is permanently featured right inside the Virginia Museum of the Civil War.

It brings tears to my eyes to stand out here today with the Donut Camper, knowing that our family name is still here on this ground, still doing business, and still serving the New Market community all these generations later.

Before the commemoration wraps up at 3:00 PM, make sure to:
1️⃣ Tour the medical camp demonstrations and the museum.
2️⃣ Find Eliza’s tribute inside.
3️⃣ Stop by the Camper window for a hot coffee and a fresh donut to fuel your trip home. 🚐💨🍩
