Milan Fair... where do I even begin?!
Last night wrapped up the final evening of the Milan Fair (minus my trailer retrieval mission today 😅), and honestly, I'm struggling to find words big enough.
I am so incredibly blessed and grateful for this community.
The camaraderie between vendors made my heart ready to burst. Making sure one another were fed, caffeinated, supported, laughing, and surviving the long days together reminded me exactly why I love being part of this little corner of the world!!!
And the fair-goers? You all nearly took my breath away! Some of my favorite things I heard this week:
🍩 "Hey! I'm a devoted member of the Sprinkle Squad!"
🍩 "I would follow you to the ends of the earth!"
🍩 "All my friends and coworkers rave about you!"
🍩 "I feel no shame coming back for a second dozen."
🍩 "🎶 Who let the donuts out? Who, who, who, who, who! 🎶"
🍩 "It's our donut lady!"
🍩 "I couldn't love Talk About It Tuesdays any more than I do. Thank you for doing that."
And my personal favorite...
🥹 Kids literally chasing me down through the fairgrounds just to tell me the donuts I gave their mommy were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!
Somewhere in the middle of all the flour, sprinkles, coffee, and chaos, I had one of those moments I'll probably remember forever...
I was serving smiling faces out of one side of the trailer when I happened to glance out the opposite window. There was my mom and Jona playing on the playground. My brother and Harper were getting absolutely launched around on a ride, probably one spin away from whiplash. 😂 And for just a second, everything seemed to slow down.
The business I built was serving this incredible community, while the people I love most were right there enjoying the fair too.
Honestly, I don't know who was smiling harder in that moment..my customers, my family, or me. 💜
It was one of those rare, surreal moments where you realize you're exactly where you're supposed to be.
Dora's Donuts used to be just a dream living in my head. This week, it felt like I got to witness what happens when an entire community wraps its arms around a dream and helps it grow.
Thank you for every donut purchased, every post shared, every recommendation to a friend, every smile, every hug, every encouraging word, and every single member of the Sprinkle Squad.
You have no idea how much it means to me.
