Plot twist: the 103-year-old sourdough starter decided we’re pretzel people now. 🥨
This was my first attempt testing pretzels for next month’s menu, and unfortunately they came out good enough that I now have to act like I know what I’m doing.🤭
Tiny bit chewy. Salty. Golden. Dramatic.

Final entry for now… because at this point, this isn’t even a baking series anymore.
You’re all emotionally invested in a 103-year-old jar of fermented flour and water.
Fun fact: every sourdough starter develops its own unique wild yeast and bacteria based on the environment around it — which basically means mine has a personality now. And honestly? She’s thriving.

Today I learned that freezing bread isn’t just convenient… it may actually have benefits too.

When bread is cooled or frozen, some of its starch changes into something called resistant starch. Resistant starch digests more slowly and may help support digestion and a steadier blood sugar response.

So yes, putting me in the freezer is technically wellness now.

Today’s fact: sourdough may help keep you fuller longer.

Because sourdough is slowly fermented, digestion happens more gradually compared to regular white bread. Whole-grain versions also contain more fiber, which can support fullness and appetite regulation.

So yes… I’m not just bread.I’m a commitment.
