Job Description
Chetzels Bakehouse has been operating and growing for 22 months in Brentwood. We offer a range of sweet and savory goods with an international fusion twist, all made from scratch and top quality ingredients! It’s not your typical cupcakes and cookies.
We’re looking for an 18+ years old Sandwich and Burger Maker to work part time, five days per week. Our business hours are 7am - 6pm, Tuesday through Friday. Saturday 10am-4:30pm, and we are closed Sunday and Monday.
The position requires someone arriving at 8am until 2/3pm and 2/3pm until 7pm schedule can vary a bit. we are NOT as busy as a dedicated burger restaurant.
We are a retail kitchen with no sitting down service really. Shift hours will be in the range of 8am - 7pm, so the shift schedule is flexible. As a bakery, we will work during some important holiday seasons such as between Christmas and New Years, throughout Ramadan, Easter and Passover; or at least up to the holiday date with one day off immediately after the rush.
Some typical tasks would include:
- Making sandwiches and burgers on flat top or on table for cold sandwiches
Shaping and baking Pizzas
- Air frying or baking Empanadas to serve to go and timing control and placing such foods to cool down in area for front of the house use
- Cleaning kitchen and equipment and washing as well during and at the end of your shift
- Tracking supply and ingredient inventory levels
- Taking detailed notes of recipe changes including why and/or how
- Making fillings for sandwiches and burgers
- Baking the bread for sandwiches and burgers fresh on the spot
Examples of things you will NOT be doing as a Prep Cook:
Won’t be preparing pastries, nor cakes, nor typical bakery foods
Qualifications
- Some knowledge of cooking
- Willingness to learn and follow minute details
- 18+ years of age
- Respect of rules and health procedures
- Speaking English is not required (if you speak Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Italian), but you should be able to read/follow recipes in English.
