Gigi for all- ✨siempre/ forever✨ !

We just love to share our Gigi sourdough starter with anyone who wants some! We live in an area with a communal mail room and we share Gigi in small deli cups often. I usually pull out my thermal printer to label them and bribe my son to help me label them, usually having to print him some silly emoji stickers as a reward. 😹
Here’s our most recent batch we shared , making it over 50 free sourdough starter deli cups for others to pick up and learn to make their own bread!
One of these went to a friend who made her very first loaf recently and we absolutely love seeing her pictures ! 🥰

Amigos! Friends! 👩🏻👱🏼‍♀️👩🏻‍🦰✨
It’s amazing what one can accomplish with support from a friend!
When I first started putting together Cielito Lindo , I wasn’t sure which direction I’d go , if I’d make loaves or cookies or muffins or dinner rolls. I just made what made me feel happy and I shared them with our friends and family. Little by little, they started asking for more and asking how they can help me continue to do what I love ! 🥰
I am so lucky to have friends that have been so supportive of my sourdough journey and truly believe in me - thank you!❤️❤️
Here’s my most recent “bake day” : some loaves for our sweet neighbor Mrs. S as a thank you because she bought me a 50 pound bag of flour ! 🥹
I’m so grateful , gracias! 💕
As well as some loaves for our friends at our local taekwondo dojo. 🥰

What a blessin’ it is to be able to help feed our village 🥰

I used to feed Gigi enough to make a loaf or two , and while I haven’t gotten to selling loaves regularly, I now feed Gigi enough to make 4 to 6 loaves at a time.

My arms are getting quite the workout… I think I’ll need to invest in an electric mixer, do you have any recommendations? 💪🏽🍞😊

✨La señorita Gigi - Little Miss Gigi !✨

Some of y’all were around in the beginning when I called my sourdough starter “Dough-Phelia” … then she got renamed Gigi by my sweet 5 year old son and it’s stuck! 🥹

We homeschooled the last year and a half and did a Sourdough Starter Diary project where we observed our starter and documented it. I made a small jar of starter for him to name and he decided on the name Gigi. We fed her and let her rise , then made a little baby loaf with his starter and it was such a fun project to do with him! ❤️

Ever since, he has been involved in some fashion in our sourdough journey. Often asking “ did you feed Gigi?” , “what’s Gigi making this week?” ,“I wonder if so-and-so would like a starter!” Or “we should share some of Gigi with our friends!”.
I’ve even caught him chatting with the librarians “ my mama and I make sourdough, do you want some?”

I do my best to oblige and have now given out sourdough bread to most of our neighbors, most of our local librarians, most of his teachers and school personnel and now to most of his extra curricular teachers. All because of love! ❤️
Sourdough has become not just bread in our life but an act of love… birthing my new slogan “With harina en las manos , love in the heart!” 🤚🏽 🍞 ❤️ 🥹

The first bake of the year 2026 ! 🥹✨
[January 6,2026 ] I baked a handful of loaves for our friends at my son’s taekwondo dojo for our first class back in the new year! I just love gifting my bread to those I care about! 🥰

I keep saying that I am going to sell my bread to save up for an electric mixer … but I’m also a terrible saleswoman and would rather staple my foot than ask a friend for money... Just me?🫠🫠

Mira, mira! Look, look! 🥹
My little dehydrated starter kits! 🫙
I made a few different options :
- dehydrated starter
- dehydrated starter with a starter sized jar
- dehydrated starter with a jar and a spurtle (a wooden stirring spatula/ stick )

The dehydrated starter is from our Big mama starter , Gigi! She is strong, bubbly and ready to bake with!
I wanted to share our love for sourdough with anyone who was interested in making their own sourdough too. I’m so grateful for my sweet neighbors and friends who have purchased these from me to gift during the Christmas season!
It means so much to me- thank you! 🥰

My next step is figuring out the costs of shipping to be able to share my starter with y’all across state lines- actually, my first trial is shipping to CANADA to a childhood friend!! 🥹🤞🏽

Masa madre para todos ! ✨
Sourdough starter for all! ✨

We absolutely love our strong sourdough starter Gigi , so much so that we’re sharing little 15 gram cups with our sweet neighbors !🥰

I haven’t had a chance to share the cute dehydrated sourdough kits we made up and have sold 19 sets of already !! 🤯
I couldn’t believe how much our neighbors loved them so much that it just felt right to keep sharing more Gigi so that everyone can give sourdough a try!
2026 feels like a good time to try something new, wouldn’t you agree?😍
