Avogadro's Laboratory What does a disabled chemist do? She starts baking, because cookies are chemistry you can eat! Avogadro (aka me, Amy) is a former Analytical Chemist and CPhT.

Due to Sjogren's Disease and the side effects of a brain tumor I am no longer able to work in my chosen field, so I've moved my laboratory and chemistry skills to the kitchen. After all, baking is chemistry, and your kitchen is simply a laboratory where you can lick the spoon! I enjoy "getting my nerd on" and researching different methods of making cookies to improve the taste and texture and comi

ng up with my own creations, in addition to sharing baked goods my family has loved for generations. Cookies are my thing, but I also offer brownies, gourmet krispie bars (some may contain adult beverages), scones, homemade dog treats, seasonal favorites such as lefse and krumkake, and a selection of hand-crafted items.

We've missed our last two scheduled dates at the Brandon SD Farmers Market due to family emergencies, but we'll be there tomorrow with some new merch, and maybe a birthday treat from me!

Look for our new bracelets and both standard and mini composition notebooks, plus our bookmarks and key fob wristlets.

The Lynx Den will be offering their boozy cupcakes, and I guarantee a chocolate offering because it's my birthday and that's what I requested!

Update: our return to the Farmer's Market will be delayed to June 21st. I landed in the Emergency Department😬🙄

After a year off because I had to have gamma knife surgery (stupid brain tumor...) we'll be back at the Brandon SD Farmers Market! Our name has changed to better reflect our merchandise, but we will still offer a few cookies, Dark Canyon Coffee, Lynx Den Smoothies, and the occasional boozy cupcake.
With the other amazing bakers attending each week and my reduced ability for marathon baking sessions - see stupid brain tumor above - we will be reducing our baked offerings and expanding our craft line. The only thing better than cookies is reading, so be on the look-out for a lot of reading / book related items. (Who else is crushed that Xaden turns Venin at the end of Iron Flame? I haven't started Onyx Storm yet because I have to recover.)
Watch this space for some sneak peaks at our new product line. We can't wait to see everyone on Saturday, May 31st.
