Please read- I’ve been a little quiet lately, but I wanted to share an update with all of you 🤍 it's been a whirlwind of the last 4 months.
I am officially back after open lung surgery and I’m so incredibly grateful to say it was successful. They were able to remove my tumor and achieve negative margins, meaning there was no cancer left behind. Those words carry more weight than I can even put into sentences. It also means no chemotherapy or radiation, which is something I don’t take for granted, especially knowing that some neuroendocrine cancers don’t respond to those treatments. It does still mean steady monitoring and testing, which requires travel.
As much as this chapter brings relief, it has also brought a lot of clarity.
Baking has been such a huge part of my life. It’s brought me joy, purpose, and connection with so many of you. You’ve supported me, encouraged me, and allowed me to do something I truly love and I will never be able to thank you enough for that. You guys kept me so busy in my little kitchen baking daily and I LOVED IT! I truly never thought Baked would grow as much and as large as it did.
But cancer has a way of shifting everything. It’s opened my eyes to where I’m most needed right now, and that’s at home being present with my girls, soaking in the time that matters most.
So for now, I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to not re-open my bakery for the time being. I will still be selling at markets here and there when and as I have the time and will announce those dates in advance. For sure will be at the Garden Market again this year on August 6th in Baxter.
This isn’t goodbye forever... it’s just a pause while I focus on healing, being present, and embracing this new perspective on life.
Thank you for every order, every kind message, every share, and every bit of support you’ve given me. It has meant more than you know. Truly... thank you for everything 🤍
I’m so grateful for this community, and I hope to be back one day when the time feels right.
Xoxo,
Kaytlyn
