Y’all would never believe this. I just got an award for best dessert shop on the Nextdoor app. So with that being said I’m gonna do an acceptance speech. I started this journey with cupcakes for revenge I never thought it would ever go this far I was fired for no reason from sprinkles so I decided I was gonna make my own cupcakes and do better than them. Growing up I was never liked never cared about bullied everyday for like more than 6 years of my childhood I never had a good childhood people would always call me too ugly too dark get beat up occasionally and I hated myself for being this way for a while. The only thing that would make me happy and at peace was to bake for me watching Hells Kitchen reruns damn near everyday watching Cake Boss wondering how he did all those cakes or watching anything with baking to calm me down. So coming from being bullied everyday to women cheating on you every time you date any one of them or lying and you know they lying to winning a award for the best dessert shop is truly a crazy experience. Again I’m a nerd at heart who’s a introvert so coming this far I would have never thought anything like this would be possible I didn’t think I was gonna win honestly but damn man thank you. Last thing I wanna thank God I followed every step he told me to do and I followed his path. I wanna thank my mom I wish you was here to see me I know you probably up there smiling at me like look at my baby 😂 I wanna thank Shawn met him in middle school and he was by my side all the way up to high school he stuck with me through the bad times and the good times he treated me like a actual person didn’t bully me like everybody else just treated me as a friend and I don’t think I ever had somebody that was nice to me before so thank you for everything even when you invited me to church and when I stayed over your house. I have came a long way been through so much s**t the average person would’ve killed themselves by now having to deal with the s**t I had to deal with back in the day but hey I’m still here and the journey is not gonna stop I’m coming out with more things so everybody follow HoodCakes to see what’s new. I’m blessed I’m black and I’m proud I thank you! *holds trophy in the air* 🏆
