This week’s LHB baking carried a lot of heart, family memories… and one very sleepy French bulldog nearby the entire time:

• Mini chocolate chip banana bread loaves
• Memorial Day-themed monster cookies
• Persian baklava - flaky layers, almond and cardamom filling, and the most fragrant rose water syrup
…along with the weekly regulars.

The delivery this week lands on “Momma Donna Day’ — my mom’s birthday. She loved banana bread, baking for others, and filling a kitchen with love. The baklava is also close to my heart as a nod to my dad and my Iranian heritage.

Food has a beautiful way of keeping people with us — through traditions, memories, and the recipes we continue to share. 💙

.bg and will be getting their LHB deliveries on Friday that include the weekly regular line-up and two other treats that are bringing serious dessert energy:
• Nutella milk chocolate bars
• Salted caramel pretzel brownies

The brownies are sweet, salty, crunchy, gooey, and slightly dramatic — which basically makes them the dessert equivalent of a French bulldog.

Speaking of Frenchies…Hazel’s contribution this week is quality control from the patio in full sploot position — back legs extended, responsibilities declined. A true professional. 😆🐾

Mother’s Day weekend feels like the perfect time for sugar cookies and good memories.

This week, along with the regulars, and .bg will have:
* Sugar cookies inspired by my mom’s favorite colors 💙💚
* Peanut butter brownies with peanut butter cups and topped with peanut butter glaze

The cookies bring back memories of baking with my mom, who loved helping me with cutout cookies almost as much as she loved feeding people. She was the official dough cutter-outer and quality control supervisor.

And because LHB is built on love, family - humans and fur babies alike, this week’s photos include my mom (Donna), Hazel’s mom (Luna), and baby Hazel on the day I met her — approximately two weeks before she completely took over my life and furniture.

Hope everyone has a sweet Mother’s Day weekend. 💕 🐾

LHB is sneaking in an extra delivery to tomorrow with fresh scones in three flavors:
🍓 Strawberry Lime
🍫 Milk Chocolate Chip
🤎 Cinnamon

Hazel, who is settling for egg carton scraps, has filed a formal complaint with management about scone distribution policies.

The scones will be at the store when it opens at noon. Come grab one (or three) while they last!
