Victory Lane Sober Living set up a tent today at the Recovery Rally in Glasgow. Special thanks to all of the event sponsors and our friends in that community. The recovery community in Glasgow is fantastic, but they need more resources, and we are going to do our part to see that they get them! We are actively working with Glasgow community leaders to secure housing to expand our program into Barren County. Stay tuned!

Cultivate Kindness is our favorite non-profit. Robin and Emily Loid are phenomenal human beings. They selflessly do so much for our community, and they have been huge supporters of Victory Lane Sober Living since the beginning. One of our homes is named “Tommy’s House” in memory of Tommy Loid, III. We are honored to support this noble cause and their mission!

Founded in 2020, Victory Lane Sober Living is now the largest privately-owned recovery home program in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. By June of 2024, VLSL will serve 175 men and women who are in early-to-intermediate recovery from alcoholism or addiction. We provide clean, safe and comfortable environments for these individuals to thrive. Through our partnerships with JourneyPure and Ohio River Health Centers, our clients have unfettered access to clinical services such as medication management, intensive outpatient therapy, individual therapy, targeted case management, peer support, and laboratory drug/alcohol screening.

This week, Victory Lane Sober Living had 3 members of the men’s program reach 1 full year of consecutive sobriety! How cool is that? These guys are showing the world that we do recover!

Another successful graduate of Victory Lane is transitioning out of the Program today. Billie and I are extremely proud of Kris Barnes. Kris has worked a phenomenal program thus far and now will look to continue to do so while he regains custody of his child. Keep doing big things, brother!

I would like to thank Don Sergent of the Daily News for this wonderful write-up about Victory Lane Sober Living. We are going to change hundreds, if not thousands, of lives at “Beth’s House” over the years to come! Jay, Billie Jean, Cody and I are extremely grateful that the Board of Adjustments approved this application. This will be our largest sober living home ever! It has been a little while since I’ve bragged about our Victory Lane Sober Living guys. These 4 guys (Bradley Tucker, Dante Balsimo, Kyle Todd and Robert Kenneth Washburn) are exactly why we do what we do. Each of these men has completed our Program and will be transitioning back into society this week, making this the most successful week in our Program’s history! Each of these men has met and exceeded our expectations, and we are confident that these guys have all the tools they need to continue their journeys in recovery. Thanks guys! We love y’all and hope that you stay in touch with us!

Jerry Lee is one of the newest members of Victory Lane Sober Living. A couple of years ago he was featured on “Soft White Underbelly.” There are many reasons for why a person falls into a life of alcoholism and addiction. Jerry, a Clay County native, never had a chance to succeed in life until very recently. Jerry is now over 2 months clean from drugs and alcohol, and he finally has all of the resources he needs to thrive. At 47 years of age, Jerry is a true testament of survival and perseverance. We are so proud of what this man has overcome. If you have a few minutes, please watch this video. It is extremely moving.

Congratulations to Victory Lane Sober Living Senior House Manager, Jeremy Whitsett, on 1 year of continuous sobriety! While any day sober is quite an achievement, this is a milestone that really means a lot to those in intermediate recovery. Jeremy has been a house manager for several months, and he leads by example. Jeremy has recently been promoted to a full time position at GM and they are lucky to have him. While Jeremy will soon be moving on (purchasing his first home!!!), we are hopeful that Jeremy will remain in a leadership position with VLSL after he transitions out. Billie Jean Sowell and I are proud of you and proud for you! Love you bud

Congratulations to our guy, Danny Brewster, on 9 months of continuous sobriety. Dan came to Victory Lane Sober Living last December following an unfortunate relapse. Since then, he has “done the deal.” It has been a real privilege watching the light come on for this young man. Billie and I are very proud of you brother!

Another 90-day milestone reached by our VLSL guy, Samuel Fredell. One of Sam’s best friends reached out to me three months ago. He told me that his friend was ready to do something different and be something different. Since arriving at Victory Lane Sober Living, Sam has done everything that has been suggested of him. He goes to work every single day, and his dedication and work ethic recently earned him a full-time position with Worthington (formerly known as Shiloh). Sam works even harder on his recovery. We are proud of you brother!

Congratulations to VLSL Assistant House Manager, Edward Bain, on 9 months of continuous sobriety. Ed came to Victory Lane Sober Living last winter a defeated man. He was in a hopeless state of mind and body. I remember driving him to Clarksville so he could get some clothes from his estranged family’s home. As his physical health improved, his spiritual journey in recovery rocketed into the 4th dimension. Today, Ed is not only an excellent role model for our new guys in the program and a top-notch leader, he has regained the trust of his family. Ed is the perfect example of humility, grace and perseverance.
